There are many factors that enter into effective appellate advocacy.  Depending on the issues, court, and stage of litigation, filing an appeal can be complex. Successful appellate practice in the state of New York, in both state and federal courts, requires a strong grasp of appellate procedure, an understanding of the audience and stakes at issue, and the ability to clearly and concisely address the concerns of the court.  In this panel, distinguished members of the bench and bar will share their perspectives on best appellate practices.
